Consulting and Project Design
From idea to material.
For Altograf, designing means imagining from the very beginning how an idea will take physical form.
We work alongside companies, brands, artists and institutions to develop graphic projects in which visual identity, materials and printing techniques are conceived as elements of a single language.
Our work begins with listening to and understanding each project. We interpret its values, content and objectives to develop a concept capable of translating them into signs, forms, colours and materials.
We combine graphic design with an in-depth knowledge of production processes. The choice of paper, texture, embossing or foil is not something added at the end of the creative process: it becomes an integral part of the project from its earliest stages.
We explore specialty papers and materials, formats, die-cutting, opening and construction systems, multilayer structures, embossing, impressions, hot foil stamping and special finishes, experimenting with combinations that make each project distinctive and consistent with its identity.
From the initial idea and prototyping through to production, creativity and technical expertise develop side by side.
For us, a graphic project is not limited to what appears on the surface. We also design through what happens to the material itself: the way paper responds to light, the depth of an embossed detail, the contrast between surfaces, transparency, weight, and the gesture through which an object is opened or its pages are turned.
The visual dimension thus becomes only one part of the project. Material, touch, light and movement all contribute to shaping its identity.
